Fatal Brentwood Fire Investigated As Possible Arson
Los Angeles firefighters found a body at the scene of a house fire in Brentwood Sunday and called in the arson and counter-terrorism unit.
BRENTWOOD, CA — A fatal house fire in Brentwood is being investigated by the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Arson and Counter-Terrorism Monday.
Firefighters arrived to battle the blaze in the 13300 block of West Westcove Drive Sunday night and found a body inside the home, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The blaze was reported just after 7 p.m. Sunday.
It took 26 firefighters less than 20 minutes to put out the fire, Stewart said. Firefighters were conducting a search inside the home when they found the deceased victim, she added. Due to the ongoing investigation, authorities did not release information about the victim including the person’s age and gender.
